About First Cut Landworks in Cloquet, MN

First Cut Landworks is owned and operated by Dylan Olson.

I’m a husband and father of three active girls, and I understand how important it is to take care of your property and make it work for you. I started First Cut because I enjoy working outdoors, running equipment, solving problems, and taking property that has become overgrown or difficult to use and making it useful again.

Every property is different. The work might mean reclaiming an overgrown trail, improving hunting or property access, clearing brush, opening a shooting lane, forestry mulching, or cleaning up an area that has gotten out of hand. Whatever the project, I take the time to understand what you want to accomplish, figure out the best way to get there, and do the work with respect for your property.

Before starting First Cut, I spent 25 years working in business, operations, management, and the nonprofit sector. I earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Bemidji State University and additional business degrees from Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College. That background helps me plan projects, manage the details, communicate clearly, and adapt when conditions on a property don’t go exactly as planned.

First Cut is a small, owner-operated business, and I want that to be an advantage for my customers. I work hard to do what I say I’m going to do, keep you informed, and deliver a finished job that turns out better than you expected.

At the end of the day, it’s pretty simple: do good work, treat people and their property with respect, and make the property more useful than it was when I got there.

Cut Hard. Finish Clean.
